Differences between Israeli Jewish and Arabs mothers in parental self-efficacy: A cultural perspective

چکیده
Parental self-efficacy (PSE) is a key to the child-parent relationship. It reflects parents’ self-perception of their ability perform parenting tasks successfully and high level parental associated with positive child outcomes. The literature on cultural differences regarding PSE scant. This study applied perspective examined between Arab Jewish mothers regard factors such as marital satisfaction, social support, wellbeing stress. Based sample 170 married in Israel, it revealed that experienced higher degree PSE, satisfaction wellbeing, well lower stress, than mothers. among was predicted by Among mothers, stress financial indicators. paper discusses findings from perspective, focusing experience an Arab, collective, traditional patriarchic society compared Jewish, individualistic, liberal society. concludes important consider context sense efficacy understand norms values individuals whose capacity comes under assessment. suggested family therapy or spousal may provide benefit who report low PSE.
